The following is a special tribute to Ms. Susan Martin, for her years of service to the people of Southwest Michigan.
LET IT BE KNOWN, That it is with deep appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and professionalism that Susan Martin has put forth on behalf of the people of the 59th Michigan House district that we offer this expression of our thanks and best wishes in retirement. As the constituents of the 59th district recognize the loyalty and devotion to public service of this conscientious individual, we add our sentiments of gratitude for a job well done.
In thirteen years of service to the people of St Joseph County and Cass County, Susan Martin has been working in the public arena during an era of great change. As Susan Martin well knows, financial pressures and changing expectations have combined to make the recent past a challenging time to work in government. With the personal sense of duty that Susan Martin brings to work each day, however, she has been able to meet this challenge with enthusiasm and a genuine interest in efficiency in public service. This has been deeply appreciated, both by citizens and organizations in both counties that have benefited directly from Susan’s work as well as by other public servants who have witnessed this fine example.
Susan spent twelve full years acquiring a depth of knowledge of the budgets of Human Services and Community Health, working for Rep. Rick Shaffer, Rep. Matt Lori, and lastly Rep. Aaron Miller. She will retire having gained a comprehensive background in social services that is not easily matched in Lansing.
There can be little doubt that the record of Susan Martin in her responsibilities as Legislative Director over the past thirteen years will continue to reap rewards for the people of the 59th district for some time. We offer our thanks on this personal milestone.
IN SPECIAL TRIBUTE, therefore, this document is signed and dedicated to join with the citizens of St. Joseph County and Cass County in saluting Susan Martin in acknowledgment of her thirteen outstanding years in public service. May she enjoy the happiest of retirements.
